Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Services, American Woodmark Corporation
Cary Dunston is the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing and Supply Chain Services and one of three Executive Officers at American Woodmark Corporation headquartered in Winchester, VA. His career has been highlighted by extensive experience in global manufacturing, supply chain and logistics, marketing strategy, venture capital and international business development. He joined American Woodmark in 2006 from Diamond Innovations (2004), a leading supplier of industrial diamonds to the automotive, electronics and aerospace industries, where he was the Vice President of Global Operations. Prior to this, he worked as Vice President of Operations for BBA Fiberweb (2002), one of the world’s largest and leading suppliers of high performance, specialty nonwoven fabrics for the hygiene, medical, technical and industrial markets. Cary has also held the positions of Vice President of European Operations and Vice President of Lean Manufacturing for Tenneco Automotive (2000), as well as Plant Manager, Director of Marketing Strategy, and Director of Materials for Cummins, Inc. (1997)
Formerly, Cary served 7 years in the U.S. Navy as an officer in the nuclear submarine fleet, where he was awarded the Navy Commendation and three Navy Achievement Medals. He also has considerable
experience as a volunteer working with young children in the community, having completed formal training in drug education and mentoring. Further, he served on the board of directors for the Center for
Operational Excellence (COE). In participation with Ohio State University, the COE brings together a partnership of statewide business leaders and educators seeking to achieve excellence in operations
management through education, research and networking.
Cary earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1988 and a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard University in 1997. In 2010, he was awarded an Honorary Professional Degree in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
